For anyone dealing with chronic pain, long COVID, or complex conditions like chronic fatigue/ME, the search for effective treatment can feel endless. Today, I’m sharing my journey with the Perrin Technique—a remarkable approach that I’ve recently begun and believe will be the final piece in my own path to healing.
What is the Perrin Technique?
The Perrin Technique was developed by Dr. Raymond N. Perrin, D.O., PhD, a Registered Osteopath and specialist in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and lymphatic health. Dr. Perrin’s work focuses on enhancing the glymphatic drainage system of the brain, which is crucial for removing toxins and ensuring healthy brain function. He has spent decades studying how poor lymphatic and glymphatic function can contribute to chronic conditions, and his method is celebrated as an effective intervention for lymphedema and lipedema as well.
Dr. Perrin’s practice is based in Manchester, England, and he has written three books detailing his research and techniques for supporting patients with CFS, ME, fibromyalgia, and lymphatic dysfunction. Committed to sharing his expertise, Dr. Perrin travels worldwide, training and certifying practitioners to ensure they can deliver the best possible outcomes for their clients.
Starting the Perrin Technique with My Therapist, Rachel
I was introduced to Dr. Perrin’s work through a Lipedema support group and was fascinated by the potential of this technique. I’ve now just started Perrin sessions with my Osteopathic Manual Therapist, Rachel, who trained directly with Dr. Perrin. Rachel has already been instrumental in my journey—she helped me recover from long COVID and regularly provides relief for my chronic pain by releasing tight muscles and fascia, which has greatly reduced my migraines and body pain.
Beginning the Perrin Technique with Rachel feels like the last piece of the puzzle. I’m confident this approach will address the lingering issues with my head, neck, and back that have persisted despite other treatments. Her sessions have already been transformative for me, and adding this specialized method gives me hope for full resolution.
A Rare Training Opportunity in Salt Lake City
Now, Rachel is bringing Dr. Perrin himself to Salt Lake City, Utah, to train and certify more therapists, doctors, and chiropractors in this method. Hosted at the Myotherapy Massage College, this event is a unique chance for practitioners to learn directly from Dr. Perrin and gain certification in the Perrin Technique.
For practitioners looking to expand their skill set, this training will provide valuable tools to support patients struggling with chronic fatigue, long COVID, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, neurological and lymphatic-related conditions. Dr. Perrin’s hands-on training ensures a comprehensive understanding of his technique, and certification provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care.
Why the Perrin Technique is Important
In recent years, we’ve gained more understanding of the brain’s glymphatic system and the critical role it plays in removing toxins. The Perrin Technique helps the body optimize this process, clearing pathways that may be blocked or sluggish. This unique approach has been life-changing for people who have not found relief from conventional treatments, and it represents a promising option for those dealing with complex, chronic conditions.
As someone who has personally benefited from Rachel’s expertise, I’m excited to continue with the Perrin Technique and look forward to the final pieces of my healing journey falling into place. If you’re a practitioner—or know someone in the field who may be interested—this training is a rare opportunity to learn from Dr. Perrin himself and gain skills that could make a profound difference for patients.
